residential apartments on main street being managed by property management company

What is “Right to Manage?”

Leaseholders frustrated with the way their block is being managed by their current managing agent can take control of their block through the Right to Manage (RTM) process. Mis-management does not have to be proven in order for this to take place.

The Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002 provides the opportunity for flat leaseholders to take control and to make decisions regarding the management of their residential block. This can include matters such as repairs, maintenance, general service charges and insurance premiums.

In this process, the landlord's consent is not required.

RTM does not necessarily mean self-management; it can simply be a transfer of responsibility and decision-making.

If you are considering transfer but wish to appoint a new manager to provide the quality of service you expect (with you making the relevant decisions) Absolute would be delighted to assist. We are experienced in the whole process and will facilitate a smooth transition.
